Volunteering

Through Villa Elba you can participate European Solidarity Corps volunteering activities as a volunteer or as an organisation. The aim of the programme is to strengthen young people’s working skills and offer experience in active citizenship. The volunteer works for the local community and gets the chance to be involved in promoting solidarity.

The project support applied from the programme covers the young person’s travel and maintenance costs, language training, and pocket money paid to the volunteer. Young people are also insured during the project. There are three application periods in a year, and it is advisable to start planning a volunteering project well in advance of the application deadline

For organisations:

We provide support and advice to municipal youth organisations, associations, and all non-profit organisations interested in functioning as a host organisation for volunteers. Volunteering can be done, for example, in youth and cultural work, hobby activities, elderly and disabled services, and environmental protection. Hosting a volunteer is ideal for those interested in developing multicultural skills in their organisation and finding new perspectives on the workplace.

For young people interested in volunteering:

Through our extensive networks, we offer both short- and long-term volunteering placements across Europe. We function as a supporting organisation for the volunteer throughout the project, providing support and advice in all aspects of volunteering.

The long-term volunteering projects have a duration of 2 to 12 months, and the short-term of 2 weeks to 2 months. The programme is suitable for all interested in volunteering, and there are no requirements for volunteers concerning language skills or education. Motivation and a genuine wish to do good is enough!

Volunteering team is a project type for young people in need of more support. With a duration of 2 weeks to 2 months, the project involves several young people, and we often send volunteers to these projects in pairs. Projects organised by our networks often carry out concrete work tasks such as renovation of non-profit objects, environmental protection, and other tasks that benefit the local community. The projects support young people’s participation in a variety of ways, for example, the volunteers can be accompanied by a support person as an escort or to support the young people throughout the volunteering period.

During the project, the young people participating in the volunteering will get learning experiences that will enable them to develop their working life skills, explore different cultures, broaden their worldview, and develop their language skills.
