Short-term volunteering

Impact of Covid-19 on Villa Elba volunteering projects

Due to worsening situation in Finland, it is not possible to start volunteering projects with international volunteers at this moment. This situation is valid until further notice.  We  update information on our website and Facebook as soon as  volunteering in our projects  is possible again.

Short-term volunteering

Through Villa Elba you can participate European Solidarity Corps volunteering activities as a volunteer. The aim of our short-term programs is to strengthen young people’s working skills and offer experience in active citizenship. The volunteer works for the local community and gets a chance to be involved in promoting solidarity.

The project support covers the young person’s travel and maintenance costs, and pocket money paid to the volunteer. Young people are also insured during the project. Usually we have about five to six short-term projects in a year. It is advisable to start planning a volunteering project well in advance of the application deadline

Young people interested in volunteering:

We offer short-term volunteering placements in various projects. The programme is suitable for all interested in volunteering, and there are no requirements for volunteers concerning language skills or education. Motivation and a genuine wish to do good is enough!

Our short-term volunteering projects are for young people in need of more support, with a duration of 2 weeks to 2 months. Our project often carry out concrete work tasks such as renovation, assisting in events or environmental protection, and other tasks that benefit the local community. The projects support young people’s participation in a variety of ways, for example, the volunteers can be accompanied by a support person as an escort or to support the young people throughout the volunteering period.

Young people participating in the volunteering project will get learning experiences that will enable him or her to develop working life skills, explore different cultures, broaden worldview, and develop language skills.
