Join our project and volunteer in Finland!
Hi5 is a European Solidarity Corps volunteering project, which brings volunteers to our region, municipalities in Central Ostrobothnia and Ostrobothnia. The aim is to bring multiculturalism into the lives of children and young people through international volunteers.
Volunteers participates in the daily activities of the hosting organisations and work can for an example include:
• Plan and lead afternoon or hobby clubs
• Organise events or courses at youth houses
• Prepare materials for activities
• Prepare and lead presentations about volunteers own country and culture
The hosting projects work in many ways with young people, so also tasks are many-sided, and volunteers own ideas and initiatives are always welcome!
Volunteer profile:
We look for young people aged 18-30 years interested in working with children and young people. You are social, open-minded, and not afraid of taking initiative and learning new. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. As the projects are located in rural areas, volunteers should be prepared for life in small communities with limited services, local transport and free time activities.
How and when to apply?
Send your CV and motivation letter to kati.paasila@villaelba.fi
We do not have any specific application period, projects start as soon as suitable volunteer(s) are found, so apply asap for the activity you would like to join! If you do not hear from us within one week of sending your email, we unfortunately cannot offer you a placement this time.
What happens then?
If we think you could be the volunteer we look for, we will contact you and agree a time for an interview. During the interview we discuss more about the project and your motivation to participate. After finding a suitable volunteer the project is listed as occupied on our website.
